An actress known for her quirky role on CBS’s 1960s comedy series “Green Acres” has died. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Mary Grace Canfield, who played the handywoman Ralph Monroe on the rural sitcom, died Saturday at a hospice in Santa Barbara, Calif. She was 89.

Canfield appeared as the tomboyish Ralph on 41 episodes of "Green Acres," which featured Eva Gabor and Eddie Albert as wealthy city slickers who move to a farm. The series aired on CBS from 1965 to 1971.

Canfield’s character greeted people with “Howdy doody,” the piece notes.

Her other roles included the neighbor Harriet Kravitz on the ABC series “Bewitched,” as well as appearances on “The Andy Griffith Show” and “Hazel.”
