Nickelodeon has optioned a 2013 novel about middle school children that has been a New York Times bestseller. TheWrap.com reports that the cable channel is lining up a project based on “Escape From Mr. Lemoncello’s Library,” in which the kids compete for a grand prize.

If the project moves forward, it would become a television movie with Head First Productions President Jim Head executive producing, the story reports.

The book’s characters are locked in the world’s most “fabulous” library and asked to find their way out, the piece adds. The book, written by Chris Grabenstein, is already in its 13th printing.

Nick has done well with its TV movies, which have included “Jinxed” and “Swindle,” the report notes.
