Actress Angelina Jolie, who has already had a double mastectomy and reconstructive surgery to head off possible cancer, said she will have another surgery to decrease her chances of getting the disease, the San Jose Mercury News reports.

Jolie underwent surgery in May, reportedly after learning she had an 87% chance of getting cancer due to having the BRCA1 gene.

She told Entertainment Weekly at the time: "There’s still another surgery to have, which I haven’t yet. I’ll get advice from all these wonderful people who I’ve been talking to, to get through that next stage."

Now she’s working on directing a movie, "Unbroken." Said Jolie: "I was very fortunate to have great doctors and very, very fortunate to have a good recovery and have a project like ‘Unbroken’ to have something to be really focused on, to be getting healthy for, and to be able to just get right back to work."

The report adds: "The 38-year-old mother of six lost her own mother to ovarian cancer and her aunt to breast cancer. She went public with her experience in a New York Times Op-Ed."

In that piece, Jolie wrote: "Once I knew that this was my reality, I decided to be proactive and to minimize the risk as much I could. I made a decision to have a preventive double mastectomy. I started with the breasts, as my risk of breast cancer is higher than my risk of ovarian cancer, and the surgery is more complex."
