“X-Men” director Bryan Singer will direct and executive produce the new straight-to-series CBS project written by “Breaking Bad” creator Vince Gilligan and “House” creator David Shore, Nellie Andreeva reports at Deadline.com.

"Battle Creek" marks the second straight-to-series project for Singer, who directed the pilot for Shore’s hit Fox drama “House,” the story notes. He’s also executive producing ABC’s “Black Box.”

The CBS project is about Det. Russ Agnew, played by Dean Winters, and FBI agent Milton Chamberlain, who have different outlooks on life but work together against criminals in Battle Creek, Mich.

Shore will serve as showrunner, and executive produce along with Gilligan, Singer and Mark Johnson.
