On a night when NCAA coverage went overtime — which may have helped push CBS to No. 1 in the Sunday broadcast ratings, based on Nielsen overnights for the key 18-49 demo — a new NBC show debuted to less-than spectacular numbers.

TVbytheNumbers.com reports that NBC’s new home-renovation reality show "American Dream Builders" delivered a preliminary 0.9 average rating in the 18-49 demo for the one-hour program, along with 3.57 million total viewers. NBC wound up a distant fourth overall among the broadcast nets for Sunday prime.

Winning the night was CBS, which got a bump from college hoops overrun at 7 p.m. that jumbled the network’s start times for the night. The report notes that CBS’s numbers are tentative and subject to more than the usual adjustments due to the live sports overrun.

In preliminary numbers, CBS had a 3.9 average rating in 18-49 for its hoops overrun at 7 p.m., topping any regularly scheduled programming on the broadcast nets. "60 Minutes" surged nine-tenths of a point from a week ago to a 2.6, "The Amazing Race" held steady with a 1.8, "The Good Wife" ticked up two-tenths to a 1.5 and "The Mentalist" dipped one-tenth to a 1.2.

Second-place ABC saw its entire prime-time lineup lose ground. The network’s top show of the night, "Resurrection," slid six-tenths from a week ago to a 2.5 average in 18-49, while "Once Upon a Time" fell four-tenths to a 2.0, "America’s Funniest Home Videos" was off two-tenths with a 1.3, and "Revenge" slipped one-tenth to a 1.6.

Fox had mixed results, with "Cosmos" drifting down three-tenths from a week ago to a 1.7 in viewers 18-49, "The Simpsons" equaling last week’s 1.9, "Bob’s Burgers" ticking up one-tenth to a 1.2, "Family Guy" slipping one-tenth to a 2.2 and "American Dad" also off one-tenth, with a 1.3.

NBC opened prime time with a repeat of "The Voice" (0.8 average in 18-49), and led out from the "American Dream Builders" premiere with "Believe," which plunged three-tenths from last week to a 1.2. "Crisis" was also down three-tenths, delivering a 1.3.

For prime time overall, CBS led the way in adults 18-49 with a 2.1 average rating, followed by ABC (1.9 average), Fox (1.7), NBC (1.0) and Univision (0.8). CBS won total viewers handily, averaging 10.3 million to lead ABC (7.1 million), NBC (4.3 million), Fox (3.7 million) and Univision (2.2 million).
