There has been another shooting at Fort Hood, Texas. Congressman Michael McCaul, R-Texas, who is chairman of the House Committee on Homeland Security, told CNN the following at 4:54 p.m. (PT) this afternoon, April 2, 2014: "I just got briefed on this incident. Fourteen victims. Four confirmed dead, including the shooter. Possible [other] shooter — suspect at large. Very fluid. Very ongoing."

McCaul added that while initial reports said this is not a terrorist act, "We don't know the motivation at this time. Too early to rule out [terrorism] completely." He also said that he had been told that the name of the soldier who allegedly did the shooting is Ivan Lopez.

As noted by the Associated Press, "Fort Hood is the scene of the deadliest attack on a U.S. military installation in history. In 2009, Maj. Nidal Hissan killed 13 people and wounded 32. He was sentenced to death in August."
