Cablevision Loses Top Executive

Cablevision Systems, after losing some top talent in 2012, has lost another top executive. Multichannel News reports that the latest to leave the company is Stephanie Mitchko-Beale, senior vice president of video infrastructure.

The departure of Mitchko-Beale "is a blow to the Bethpage, N.Y. cable company — she developed its pioneering network Digital Video Recorder and is one of the most respected technology executives in the industry,” the story notes.

It’s not clear what her plans are, and she didn’t return a request for comment from Multichannel News. She left the company about two weeks ago, in an unexpected departure, the piece adds. Cablevision declined to comment.

She had been with the company for 15 years, and before that had served as director of electronic warfare at Digital Signal Corp.

The piece reports: “Along the way Mitchko-Beale has garnered several top industry honors — she received an Emmy Award from the American Academy of Arts and Sciences in 2013 for her work on Cablevision's iO Interactive Television and a Technical Emmy for her work on Cablevision's iO Interactive Optimum Digital Cable. Also last year she received the Women in Cable & Telecommunications Women in Technology Award.”

As previously reported, Cablevision recently had some management changes, tapping Kristin Dolan, the wife of Chief Executive James Dolan, as chief operating officer. That role had been left vacant by the departure of Tom Rutledge, who resigned in 2011.
