CBS on a Prime-Time Ratings Roll TVWeek

CBS is crowing about its ratings momentum since the end of the Sochi Winter Olympics, which gave rival broadcast network NBC a huge ratings bump.

The network announced that it racked up its third consecutive weekly sweep of the prime-time ratings in total viewers, adults 18-49 and adults 25-54. In Nielsen live plus same day numbers for the week ending April 6, CBS won the week by 3.5 million viewers and by 31% over its closest competitor. The network had seven of the top 10 programs in total viewers, and 11 of the top 20 in the 18-49 demo.

The network also noted that it has been No. 1 in total viewers for five consecutive weeks, and No. 1 in 18-49 in four of the past five weeks.

Examining the latest weekly results, CBS announced: "In viewers, CBS (10.08m) won the week by more than +3.5 million viewers, topping ABC (6.39m), NBC (5.72m) and FOX (3.99m). Among adults 18-49, CBS (2.1/06) finished +31% ahead of second-place ABC (1.6/05), +40% ahead of third-place NBC (1.5/04) and +75% ahead of FOX (1.2/04)."
