One of the stars of NBC's long-running comedy series “Cheers” will be back in Boston as a cast member on a new sitcom. Deadline.com reports that "Cheers" alum George Wendt has been cast in the untitled TBS workplace comedy from “Will & Grace” creators David Kohan and Max Mutchnick.

The pilot tracks a group of people who all work in a Charlestown, Mass., barber shop, but who hung out with different crowds in high school. Wendt will play Buzzy, the owner of the shop, a nice guy who has a gambling problem.

The project has also hired Ashley Tisdale, who will play a barber at the shop. Tisdale is known for her Disney Channel roles in projects such as “High School Musical.”
