One of the stars of the long-running NBC comedy series "Family Ties" has landed a role on "Suits." The Hollywood Reporter's Live Feed reports that Michael Gross, who played the father on the 1980s sitcom, has been cast in a recurring role on the USA Network legal drama.

Gross will portray Walter Gillis, the founder of a DVD distribution business who is trying to keep his business solvent. The actor will join previously announced recurring stars D.B. Woodside and Brendan Hines for the show’s fourth season.

“Suits” will air its third-season finale Thursday and will return this summer for season four.

"Family Ties," which also starred Michael J. Fox, Justine Bateman and Meredith Baxter-Birney, aired from 1982-1989 in its original NBC run, with Gross playing the family patriarch.
