"Judge Judy" is going prime time. The Hollywood Reporter says the high-rated syndicated daytime court show is set for a one-hour prime-time special on CBS.

"Judge Judy Primetime" will examine the transition of Judith Sheindlin from a family court judge in New York to her role on "Judge Judy," and will feature new cases. The show is set to air Tuesday, May 20, at 8 p.m. ET/PT, the story notes.

"The special will also include 'Judyisms,' Sheindlin's one-liners that have been parodied on late-night programs such as 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' and 'Saturday Night Live,'" THR notes. "Additionally, the special will have clips from the '60 Minutes' piece in 1993 and a 2003 follow-up."

The daytime version of "Judge Judy" rolled out in September 1996 and has been the top court program in the country, and for the past three years has been the No. 1 first-run syndicated show, the piece notes.
