Sony Pictures TV Re-Ups With Two Top Executives

Sony Pictures Television has renewed the contracts of two top executives. Writing on Deadline.com, Nellie Andreeva reports that the studio re-upped with Jamie Erlicht and Zack Van Amburg, the presidents of U.S. programming and production, for three years each.

The deals take “the duo to a decade at the helm of Sony TV’s prime-time operations,” Andreeva writes.

The renewals signal the rising importance of Sony TV within Sony Pictures Entertainment, with Sony Corp. Chief Executive Michael Lynton last fall noting the company would shift to an emphasis on higher-margin TV. More than a year ago, the company signed Steve Mosko to a new long-term contract as president of the unit.

Now, with Erlicht and Van Amburg set to continue with Sony TV, the unit’s “leadership has been secured for the next few years,” Andreeva notes.

Said Mosko: "What Zack and Jamie have accomplished is nothing short of amazing. I’ve always believed in them and they’ve become the best in the business.”

Sony TV now has 30 series airing across 15 networks, including NBC’s hit ‘The Blacklist” and Showtime’s “Masters of Sex,” the story notes.
