A well-known investigative reporter is parting ways with NBC News. The Washington Post reports that the split between Michael Isikoff and the network is, in Isikoff's words, "a mutual agreement that this was a situation that was no longer working out.”

Isikoff is known for his work covering the Monica Lewinsky scandal in the 1990s, The Hollywood Reporter notes. He joined NBC News in 2010 after working for Newsweek for 16 years.

In a statement, NBC News senior executive producer Richard Esposito said: “Michael has done terrific work for NBC News on stories ranging from revealing which government official leaked the US Stuxnet virus attack on Iran’s nuclear program to a groundbreaking examination of the Obama administration drone strike program. We’re grateful for all he’s done and wish him the very best."
