HP Launches 7-Inch Tablet for $100. One Commentator Says Price Is ‘Ridiculously Cheap’

"HP is bringing some competition to the U.S. tablet market with its ridiculously cheap HP 7 Plus for just $100," writes Sam Lehman at Headlines and Global News.

Lehman continues, "For that price, the HP 7 Plus features a 1GHz quad-core processor, a good bargain for such a low-priced tablet. Other specs include a 7-inch 1024 x 600 resolution display, 1GB Ram and 8GB internal storage with microSD card support. The camera is aided with 2 megapixels in the back and 0.3 megapixels for the front. The tablet carries a 2,800 mAh battery to last up to five and half hours. For this price the features seem to be adequate.

"To attract the customers,  HP is debuting its 7 Plus tablet in the U.S. by throwing in 25GB of free lifetime storage with Box and also Kingsoft Office software."

In another review, the Droid Guy says, according to Tech Times, " 'There's really nothing extraordinary about the specs of the HP 7 Plus,' states the review. 'On the positive side this model comes with a quad core 1GHz processor combined with 1GB of RAM, which should be sufficient enough to provide a smooth experience when running multiple applications.'

"The site says it's made for consumers seeking an everyday device for checking email, updating social networks and just browsing the Web: 'For a $100 price tag this is already a good buy considering that there are other worse tablets out in the market carrying a higher price tag. On the other hand, consumers looking for a gaming tablet should stay away from this device as it isn't designed to handle graphically intense games.'"

One can find the HP 7 Plus at the Hewlett-Packard website.
