NBC Orders Four New Series LA Times
In the first big announcement of the upfront season, NBC has ordered four pilots to series. The Los Angeles Times’ Show Tracker reports that the series include the romantic comedy “Marry Me” and the Katherine Heigl vehicle “State of Affairs."
The other two projects are the dramas “Odyssey,” described as a “Traffic”-like action drama, and “Allegiance,” about a man who discovers his parents are Soviet spies.
“Marry Me,” from “Happy Endings” creator David Caspe, stars Ken Marino and Casey Wilson as a couple who encounter relationship problems around his delay in proposing. The relationship is said to be based on the real-life romance between Caspe and Wilson, the story notes.
The Heigl project stars the actress as CIA analyst Charleston “Charlie” Tucker, who prepares intelligence briefings for the president, played by Alfre Woodard. Heigl's character is also trying to find out who killed the president’s son, who was also her fiance.
