Show Starring 'Friends' Actress Gets Series Order From HBO THR
A comedy series centered on one of the stars of the long-running hit NBC comedy "Friends" has a series order from HBO. The Hollywood Reporter's Live Feed reports that the Lisa Kudrow vehicle "The Comeback" will indeed come back to the pay-cable channel.
HBO announced today that the show, a critical favorite, will be back for a six-episode run in the fall.
"Following weeks of speculation, the comedy starring Emmy winner Kudrow as embattled and fading TV 'it girl' Valerie Cherish will pick up with the character who thinks she has it all figured out this time," the story reports. "The series originally ran for one 13-episode season on the premium cable network in 2005."
Said HBO programming President Michael Lombardo: "The Comeback holds a special place in the hearts of its many fans, including many of us here at HBO. I can’t wait to find out what Valerie’s been up to since we last met.”
