An actress who appears on "The Bridge" is joining FX's "Sons of Anarchy." SPOILER ALERT: Read no further if you do not want to hear plot points for the show's upcoming season.

EW.com’s Inside TV reports that Annabeth Gish, who also is known for the TV shows "The X-Files" and "The West Wing" along with feature films including "Mystic Pizza," will play the new sheriff on the biker drama series.

The casting follows the announcement that rocker Marilyn Manson is joining the show’s seventh season in a recurring role, as previously reported.

Gish’s character is Althea Jarry, a veteran of Stockton’s Organized Crime Unit, whose job is to solve the murders of Sheriff Eli Roosevelt and Tara Knowles, the story says. Gish will remain on “The Bridge” as well, and her character won’t appear in the "Sons of Anarchy" season 7 premiere.
