With Barbara Walters exiting the show she created 17 years ago, what's ahead for the TV icon after "The View"? The Associated Press reports that Walters won’t be on-screen starting next week, although she will remain with the program as an executive producer.

"It's not as if I'm walking into the sunset," Walters told the AP, which described her as looking “a decade or two younger” than her age of 84. "I'm NOT going to be doing a five-day-a-week show, and I'm NOT going after every big 'get.'"

On Thursday’s episode of the ABC show, all of its 11 past and present co-hosts will reunite as Walters retires from daily television. After “The View” airs Thursday, the network will air a two-hour retrospective called “Barbara Walters: Her Story,” at 9 p.m.

"Then on May 17," she said, "I'm going to be sleeping until noon. May 18, I'm going to sleep until noon."

Walters added that her long career demonstrates “there’s no age limit for people. And there shouldn’t be!”
