Tyler Perry’s most recent film will be the focus of a spinoff at Oprah Winfrey’s OWN, but after bombing at the box office, the project will be given a new name as it moves forward. The Los Angeles Times’ Show Tracker reports that the film, “The Single Moms Club,” will become “If Loving You Is Wrong” in its new incarnation.

The film was “greeted by scathing reviews” and “marked his worst showing ever at the box office,” with only $8.3 million in its opening weekend, the article notes. At OWN, the retitling suggests that the network is trying to place some distance between itself and the movie’s flop in theaters, the piece adds.

Casting has been announced, with Amanda Clayton of “John Carter” and Heather Hemmens of “Hellcats” among the cast members, the story says. Perry will executive produce, write and direct the project.
