Amazon has launched a music-streaming service. "The service, available only to members of Amazon's $99-per-year Prime membership program in the U.S., offers about one million tracks from thousands of albums, the company said," reports The Wall Street Journal. The WSJ story reports: "But it doesn't include songs from Vivendi SA's Universal Music Group, the largest label." All of the artists listed in our headline, above, are with the Universal Music Group.
The article adds: "[T]racks from Warner Music Group and Sony Corp. will generally be more than six month old" on the Amazon service.
The story also says: "The service, dubbed Prime Music, will be free for Prime subscribers and without advertising."
