'American Idol' Will Keep the Judging Panel Together, Even After a Season-Long Ratings Struggle EW
The judging panel on “American Idol” will remain intact for the show's 14th season, even though the show hit record-low ratings earlier this year, reports EW.com’s Inside TV.
Returning in 2015 will be Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban and Harry Connick Jr., along with host Ryan Seacrest. “It’s the first time since season 11 that the judges have remained the same for consecutive seasons,” the piece notes.
While some might question bringing back a panel that was on duty during the show’s ratings struggle, the general thought is that “Idol's" dip is due to its aging format and increased competition from talent competitions on other networks, the story says.
