The writer who has been with Comedy Central's “The Daily Show” longer than any of the others is headed out. Deadline.com reports that J.R. Havlan is leaving the program.
Havlan has 2,821 episodes to his credit, having started writing for the show back when Craig Kilborn was the host, the story reports. Jon Stewart has hosted the program since 1999.
TheWrap.com notes that Havlan had hinted on a podcast that he might be ready to try something new. The writer sent a tweet about his last show, writing, “Seems my final joke @DailyShow is ‘Joe Biden is so poor he s—s in a bucket.’ Also might have been my 1st!’”
