Fox had an easy time of it in the competition for broadcast ratings Wednesday night, rolling to a comfortable win in the key 18-49 demo against mostly repeat programming, TVbytheNumbers.com reports.

Based on Nielsen overnights, Fox averaged a 1.7 rating in viewers 18-49, while the closest any of its broadcast competitors came was a 1.1 for Spanish-language Univision.

A surge for Fox's two-hour "So You Think You Can Dance" keyed the win, with the show rising four-tenths of a ratings point to a 1.7 average in 18-49.

CBS and NBC were in repeats, and ABC's only fresh program was "Motive," which rose two-tenths from a week ago to notch a 1.0 average in adults 18-49.

For prime time overall, Fox came out on top in viewers 18-49 with its 1.7 average, followed by Univision (1.1 average), then ABC, CBS and NBC (all with 1.0 averages). CBS's lineup of repeats squeezed out a win in total viewers with 5.5 million, ahead of Fox (5.3 million), ABC (4.2 million), NBC (3.9 million) and Univision (2.9 million).
