Two-Time Emmy Winner Joins Cast of Play That Will Most Likely Be THE Hot Ticket on Broadway This Fall NY Times
A two-time Emmy winner has joined the cast of a play that will most likely be THE hot ticket on Broadway this fall.
"Megan Mullally will join Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick on Broadway in a newly revised version of Terrence McNally’s 1980s comedy 'It’s Only a Play,' The New York Times reported last week.
The story reports: "The production, which reunites Mr. Lane and Mr. Broderick years after their starring roles in Broadway’s 'The Producers' and the 2005 revival of 'The Odd Couple,' will begin performances in late summer at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theater and open on Oct. 9. Jack O’Brien will direct."
That Broadway production of the musical-comedy "The Producers" -- based on Mel Brooks' 1968 cult-comedy movie of the same name -- ran for just over 2,500 performances and won 12 Tony Awards.
The cast of 'It's Only a Play" will also include Tony winner Stockard Channing and Oscar winner F. Murray Abraham, The Times reports.
