Marking the anniversary of a headline-grabbing case from 20 years ago, an NBC News special claimed the title of top show on broadcast prime Wednesday night, based on Nielsen overnights for the key 18-49 demo.

TVbytheNumbers.com reports that the two-hour "Dateline: The People vs. O.J. Simpson" delivered a 1.4 average in viewers 18-49, better than anything from NBC's broadcast rivals. NBC's back-to-back installments of "Growing Up Fisher," including the series finale, both settled for 0.9 averages in the 18-49 demo, down 25% from the show's most recent episode and a series low.

Fox wound up in a tie with NBC for first place for prime time overall, as its two-hour "So You Think You Can Dance" pulled a 1.3 average in 18-49, slipping 13% from a week ago.

CBS went with an all-repeat lineup, and ABC aired just one fresh program, "Motive," which plummeted 36% from last week and managed only a 0.7 average in viewers 18-49.

For prime time overall, NBC and Fox led the way in the 18-49 demo with 1.3 averages, followed by Univision (1.1 average) and ABC and CBS (both 0.9). NBC was No. 1 in total viewers with 5.4 million, topping CBS (5.0 million), Fox (4.4 million), ABC (3.8 million) and Univision (2.7 million).
