The ABC News morning block "Good Morning America" has two new executive producers. ABC News Senior Executive Producer Tom Cibrowski announced today that Chris Vlasto was promoted to executive producer of the show's 7 a.m. hour and Rachel Miskowiec has been hired as executive producer of the 8 a.m. hour.

Cibrowski said in his announcement to staffers: "Chris, who has served by my side in the trenches for the past three years, has been promoted to executive producer of 'GMA’s' 7 a.m. hour. Chris will lead the charge on our high-wattage hour of breaking news and will continue to always champion the best and most interesting stories, investigations and interviews."

Cibrowski added: "Chris has been instrumental in driving us to number one, and I’m confident he will continue to help lead the broadcast to even better days ahead with his amazingly competitive spirit."

Miskowiec has a background as a TV producer and showrunner, most recently serving as EP on Katie Couric's daytime talk show "Katie." She will begin her role as EP on the 8 a.m. hour of "GMA" July 14.

Cibrowski said of Miskowiec: "Under her leadership 'Katie' tackled both important issues — from obesity to the Knockout Game — and pop culture. Of her many excellent shows, two especially stand out — an hour dedicated to Scholarship America, where 12 students were given college tuition, and a program about an extraordinary young man and his search for a cure for Progeria. Rachel helped the program zero in on features that were both topical and have heart, and I am delighted she’ll bring that same keen sense for great stories to 'GMA.'"
