Comcast Chairman and CEO Brian Roberts has signed an extension with the company, which owns NBCUniversal. B&C reports that the one-year extension keeps Roberts in the position until June 30, 2015.

"Roberts, son of company founder Ralph Roberts, has been CEO since 2002. His employment agreement was similarly extended last year," the story reports. "In 2013, Roberts received total compensation of $31.4 million, up 8% from the prior year."

Under Roberts, Comcast has become the largest cable operator and broadband provider in the country, with plans to grow further by completing its pending acquisition of Time Warner Cable.

Roberts also oversaw the company's acquisition of NBCUniversal in 2011.
