FXX has placed a series order for a new comedy created by a former writer for "Saturday Night Live." The Los Angeles Times' Show Tracker reports that the channel ordered a 10-episode first season for "Man Seeking Woman."

The show is from Simon Rich, who wrote for "SNL" from 2007-2011. The series stars Jay Baruchel, known for providing the voice of Hiccup in the "How to Train Your Dragon" movies.

The series, a modern take on dating, is based on a collection of short stories by Rich titled "The Last Girlfriend on Earth."

"Eric Andre, Britt Lower and Maya Erskine also star in the series," the story reports, adding: "Rich's former 'SNL' boss Lorne Michaels will be executive producer."

The show is on track for a 2015 premiere.
