Hallmark Movie Channel Has a New Name -- Why One of the Words in Its Old Name Had to Go Deadline
The Hallmark Movie Channel has unveiled a new name and new logo, as it prepares to rebrand itself as Hallmark Movies & Mysteries, reports Deadline.com.
The new branding will debut Oct. 1, two years after its sibling network, Hallmark Channel, redesigned its look. The channels are owned by Crown Media Family Networks.
“Hallmark Movie Channel’s new name and logo design emphasize the network’s evolution, Crown Media said, as it plants its flag in the mystery genre. In addition, by dropping the word ‘channel’ from its name, the network says it is better positioned for long-term growth in a rapidly changing landscape that includes traditional linear, as well as digital platforms,” the story reports.
