An NBC drama series is undergoing a lineup change after the show's creators decided to go in a different direction. The Hollywood Reporter's Live Feed reports that the changes are taking place on "Constantine," which is scheduled to premiere this fall.
“True Blood” actress Lucy Griffiths is exiting the series, the story reports. Griffiths had been set to play Liv Aberdine, the female lead.
The project is centered around John Constantine, a con man-turned-reluctant supernatural detective played by Matt Ryan. The enigmatic Constantine is a master of the occult who is struggling with his past. Griffiths’ character was set to pair up with Constantine after attracting the attention of a demon.
“NBC will not recast the role but instead will add the character of Zed, a familiar name from the ‘Constantine’ books. Zed, a foil for the show's title character who becomes his right-hand woman, has not yet been cast,” the piece reports.
