Big plans are in the works that should raise the already high profile of a long-running TV show. Among the plans FXX is working on for "The Simpsons" is a marathon of all of the show's episodes from its first 25 seasons, EW.com's Inside TV reports.

At 522 episodes, plus "The Simpsons Movie," FXX says it will be the longest-running marathon in television history, with "The Simpsons" airing in chronological order, 24 hours a day, for 12 days. The event kicks off Aug. 21.

Also in the works is an online initiative called "Simpsons World," billed as a fully searchable website where fans can find all their "Simpsons" content on demand.

"For the first time, viewers can access every episode of the series via their computer or other networked devices. 'Authenticated' FX viewers will have instant access on iPhone, iPad, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Android phones and tablets, Smart TVs, and additional set-tops devices," the story reports.

The report adds: "Viewers will also be able to search for specific quotes, curate their own own personalized playlists, and share their favorite show clips and quotes."

"Simpsons" exec producer Al Jean quipped: "I don’t want to over-promise, but this website can provide you with affordable health care."

The "Simpsons" projects follow FXX's acquisition of exclusive cable rights to repeats of the series.
