The broadcast networks are jumping into the muck this summer as reruns of many of their best dramas are drawing lower ratings than original scripted shows on cable, the New York Times says. As a result, the networks are counting on reality shows, such as ABC’s “Wipeout,” which drew almost 10 million viewers in its debut.
