After WGN-TV in Chicago received calls from viewers concerned when they heard anchor Allison Payne slurring her words during a report from the Democratic National Convention last week, the anchor blamed the incident on a series of mini-strokes that kept her off the air earlier this week, the Chicago Tribune reports. “I don’t want to play a violin, but I am still recovering,” Payne told the Tribune. “It’s a process. I have to ask people to be patient with that in terms of slurring and things.”

I wish her well. I hope people were calling because they were concerned she is OK, not because they thought she had ben drinking or something.
