The loser of last night’s debate wasn’t Gov. Sarah Palin or Sen. Joe Biden: it was the news channel pundits and their low expectations, the Los Angeles Times says. The newspaper accuses the likes of CNN’s David Gergen and Newsweek’s Howard Fineman of setting the bar so low that if it were any lower, “they’d have to bury it.” About Palin, the paper says, “When all you have to do is prove you can address issues in a coherent way, it’s fairly easy to exceed expectations.”
