Many second-year series that had their debut seasons cut short due to the Writers Guild of America strike are having difficulty bringing back the viewers that originally watched them, USA Today reports. Shari Ann Brill from media buyer Carat tells the paper that “viewers hadn’t had a chance to embrace them, and they were all but forgotten when they came back.” Among the series affected is ABC’s “Pushing Daisies,” which debuted this season with 6.3 million viewers, less than half the 13 million viewers who watched the series premiere last year.
