The proposed delay to the DTV switchover would cost some struggling stations a lot more money, such as Boston Univision station WUNI, which already has an aging transmitter with an analog tube that may not make it that long, WBUR.org reports. The station has already let some staff members go, and an expensive replacement that will be needed only until June would be a waste of money, as would the money needed to keep an analog transmission going another four months, the site says.
