  1. What????
How do you come to the conclusion that Maddow’s appearance boosted the ratings?
Was she mentioned in the promotion? Not that I recall.
Viewers would already have to have tuned in to even know she was on the show.

  2. Rachel Maddow is the greatest and I’m not surprised she boosted ratings on MTP. BTW I won’t watch This Week because of George Will. No matter who the guests are on This Week, I will skip it until George Will leaves the show.

  3. Arthur-
MSNBC had a promo for the appearance and Maddow’s fan site promoted it. She is certainly the reason I tuned in- and she did a masterful job keeping Armey in check. I’ll keep watching MTP if she returns, otherwise it is about like watching paint dry.

  4. The only reason I tuned in was to view Rachel Maddow. She mentioned it on her show. I don’t typically watch those shows because I find the boisterous debate more often than not impedes rational discussion. While its been a popular format in the past, I cannot stand to watch the guests not answer the questions they were asked, and not listen to each other. I am so thankful for the Rachel Maddow show, where facts and thoughtful consideration reign.
