The nominations for the Writers Guild Awards were announced this morning, and in the drama series competition, AMC’s two top shows, "Breaking Bad" and "Mad Men," will go up against Showtime’s "Dexter," ABC’s "Lost" and NBC’s "Friday Night Lights," reports Multichannel News.

In the comedy series category, Fox’s newcomer "Glee" is vying with NBC’s two much-honored sitcoms, "The Office" and "30 Rock," as well as HBO’s "Curb Your Enthusiasm" and another newbie, ABC’s "Modern Family."

The awards will be presented Feb. 20 in a dual presentation at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles and the Hudson Theatre at the Millennium Broadway Hotel in New York City.
