The digital division of Univision Communications Inc. today announced its plans for a new online and mobile outlet to launch later this year called "Novelas y Series."

The Spanish-language media company will set up "Novelas y Series" on Univision.com and as a mobile destination. The new venue comes on the heels of "Vidas Cruzadas," a very successful telenovela by the company that was made just for the Web.

The new "Novelas y Series" channel will include top drawer third-party content from Azteca America, RCN Television and Dori Media Group, as well as original programming from Univision Interactive Media.

According to Kevin Conroy, president of Univision Interactive Media, "The launch of the ‘Novelas y Series’ channel will expand the deep multimedia experience that Univision offers to today’s Hispanics, reaching them wherever and however they consume content."
