One of the real innovators in cable TV has been elected to the 2010 CTAM Board of Directors, CTAM has announced.

It’s Bob Benya, president and CEO of iN DEMAND, who has been in the cable industry for 28 years, much of that time in executive positions at Time Warner Cable. He has been a pioneer in the development of new product innovations, including the progress made in DTV, VOD, ITV, Road Runner High Speed Service and Cross-Platform services.

He’s also won an Emmy for coming up with Time Warner Cable’s Start-Over innovation for consumer viewing.

In a statement about Benya’s appointment, Sean R.H. Bratches, chair, CTAM Board of Directors and, ESPN Inc.’s executive vice president for sales and marketing, said, “I have known Bob for over 20 years and have witnessed first-hand his passion for helping to grow the cable business. Bob brings a wealth of knowledge to the CTAM Board and I look forward to working with him as we continue exploring and executing ground-breaking cable technologies, products and marketing strategies.”
