CBS has ordered a daytime talk show to replace a long-running soap opera after it ends in the fall, reports The New York Times’ Media Decoder blog.

The concept for the show, which replaces “As the World Turns,” is being compared to ABC’s “The View.” The show will feature a panel of moms in a roundtable discussion, the story reports. Among them will be Chen, who is the wife of Leslie Moonves, chief executive of CBS Corp.

Another host is Sara Gilbert, who developed the format for the show and will executive-produce as well as co-host it, according to The Times. The others are Sharon Osbourne, Holly Robinson Peete, Leah Remini and Marissa Jaret Winokur.

Chen will reportedly give up her job as co-host of CBS’s “The Early Show.”

  1. knock a long running beloved soap opera off the air and give the wife anothe big paycheck. Nice going Les….

  2. no….No…NO….NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Kill me now. Hopefully it will be cancelled within a year, but seeing as she’s married the boss, I doubt it. I am certain however that this show will be unbearably horrible.

  3. Once again, CBS has proven who is in control,
there was talk about doing another game show
in the daytime, but to stick a talk show between a daytime soap and a game show is a
ridiculous move, i don’t think this will last.

  4. They should title the show either The Bad Wife or The Good Wife…”NOT!” After all Julie was sleeping with the boss while he was still married to his old wife. Plus this show is Mom’s talking about parenting. Give me a break. Julie has only been a Mom for a couple of months. What are all these show biz “expert” Moms going to do? Bring on their nannys.

  5. Great just what we need… another daytime talk show. Are programmers so inept at coming up with show concepts that this is all they have left in their trick bag. How about adding some documentaries or other educational fair to the mix. We don’t need more Dr. Phils/Oprahs. No wonder TV is losing audience share! Viewers have had enough of this garbage programming!

  6. Neat blog layout! Very easy on the eyes.. i like the colors you picked out
