John Crawford, Actor Who Played Sheriff Ep Bridges on ‘The Waltons,’ Dies at 90

John Crawford, an actor who is best known on television for playing Sheriff Ep Bridges on "The Waltons," has died, reports The Hollywood Reporter. He was 90. 

The cause was a stroke, the story says. In his role on "The Waltons," Crawford appeared in more than 40 episodes, and he also recurred on "Police Woman" and had guest roles on shows ranging from "The Rockford Files" to "Dynasty."

Crawford also acted in films, where his credits range from "Cyrano de Bergerac" in 1950 to "The Poseidon Adventure" in 1972. His writing credits include 1970’s "The Ballad of Cable Hogue," which he co-wrote with Edmund Penney, the story notes.
