Logitech Refutes Internet Rumors About Its Revue Set-Top Box for Google TV, Plans to Feature System at CES

The rumor that Google has asked Logitech to suspend production of its Google TV set-top box, the Revue, isn’t true, according to the company, reports the Los Angeles Times’ Technology Blog.

The Revue has been advertised on television with commercials starring Kevin Bacon playing a Kevin Bacon fan, who uses the Revue to search for online content starring the actor.

"Contrary to recent speculation, Logitech has not been asked by Google to suspend production of its Google TV products," said a spokeswoman for the Swiss tech company. "Suggestions that production of the Logitech Revue companion box might need to be halted to address software issues are unfounded."

Google officials weren’t immediately available for comment, the story notes.

But the article adds that Logitech stopped short of disputing other rumors circulating on the Web that say the tech firm has decided to stop production of the Revue on its own.

According to a blog post Monday from Ashish Arora, vice president of Logitech’s Digital Home Group, under the headline "All’s Well With Logitech Revue," the tech company will be showing Google TV products at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas in early January.
