Showtime Senior VP of Original Programming Danielle Gelber will leave the pay-cable network when her contract runs out at the end of this month, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Gelber had a hand in bringing “The L Word,” “Weeds” and “The Big C” to life at Showtime. It was reportedly her decision to leave, and she has been rumored to be headed to NBC to rejoin Bob Greenblatt after the Comcast takeover of NBC Universal.

She has been with Showtime since 2002, rising to her current position in 2004 under Showtime’s then-entertainment chief Greenblatt.

THR reports: “Gelber’s departure comes several months after David Nevins joined the network as president of entertainment, replacing Greenblatt. But Gelber is said to have a good relationship with Nevins, who she worked with at Fox. However, Gelber’s name has been mentioned as a possible addition to Greenblatt’s team at NBC.”
