‘The View’ Co-host Wins Plagiarism Suit Brought by Health Book Author

Dec 7, 2010  •  Post A Comment

"The View" co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck won a plagiarism lawsuit Monday, absolving her of charges that she lifted passages from a book on the digestive disorder celiac disease, the Huffington Post reports.

A judge in the U.S. District Court of Massachusetts, where the suit was filed, found no evidence of plagiarism, HuffPo says.

Author Susan Hassett had claimed she sent Hasselbeck a book she wrote on the disease in 2008. When Hasselbeck, who suffers from the disorder, released her own book on the same subject, "The G-Free Diet: A Gluten-Free Survival Guide," a year later, Hassett took her to court.

This is Hassett’s second suit against Hasselbeck on the book; the first was dismissed by a federal judge last year, the report said.
