After receiving a flood of complaints from both fans and heirs of the late Michael Jackson, Discovery Networks International said it would indefinitely postpone its plans to air a re-enactment of the singer’s 2009 autopsy, reports the New York Times’ ArtsBeat blog.

The program had been scheduled to air in several European countries, although not in the U.S., on Jan. 13, the story notes. The decision to postpone the program was due to a request from Michael Jackson’s estate and "“the commencement of legal proceedings beginning next week," according to a statement from Discovery Networks.

Conrad Murray, the doctor who was with Jackson when he died, is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 4 for a hearing after being charged with involuntary manslaughter in Jackson’s death, the article notes.
