After extending a negotiating period through Jan. 14 in retransmission consent talks, Time Warner Cable and Sinclair reached an agreement in principle on Saturday, reports Multichannel News.

That means that Time Warner Cable will continue to carry Sinclair’s 28 stations, the story says. A final agreement is expected in the next week, and the article notes that despite rhetoric, the negotiations never led to a service disruption.

Sinclair also agreed to a tentative pact with Bright House Networks on Jan. 14, the story notes, adding that Time Warner Cable typically handles programming negotiations for Bright House as well.
