AOL is throwing its hat in the ring in a bid for a piece of the late-night talk show action, launching a show tonight, Monday, Jan. 24, 2011, that will feature a trio of familiar faces, Entertainment Weekly reports in its Inside TV blog.

Comic Kevin Pollak, TV and Web host Adam Carolla and comedy film director Kevin Smith are collaborating on the nightly online video series, the story reports. All three men already have popular online chat/podcast shows, so this isn’t new territory for them.

The deal is for the trio to present original content Monday through Thursday, then serve up a best-of-the-week program on Friday nights.

Carolla said of the new project, “Ever since I could spell, AOL has been on my radar. It brings me great joy to finally partner up with them and make my childhood dreams come true. I look forward to our future together."

"AOL Late Night" launches tonight at 10 on AOL.com.
