After Glenn Beck appeared on "Today" to promote a new self-help book and referenced Jon Stewart, Stewart issued an invitation to Beck to appear on his show, reports the Los Angeles Times’ Show Tracker blog.

Beck was promoting "The 7: Seven Wonders That Will Change Your Life" when "Today" host Meredith Vieira asked Beck about the angry and violent tone and imagery he uses on his show, especially given that Beck’s new book urges readers to let go of anger, the story notes.

Beck insisted that his comments on his show about, say, wanting to poison Nancy Pelosi were just jokes. "Ask Jon Stewart, ask ‘The Simpsons,’" Beck said on "Today."

Stewart responded on his program by saying, "I would you like you to be on our show … so you can get some things off your chest," accompanied by graphics that read, "Drop a Load on Jon Stewart."

  1. Not going to happen. Jon exposes Beck for the fear mongering showman that he is and knows his pretzel logic will not hold up to Jon’s actual knowledge of the facts.
