Three new unscripted shows are being picked up by Syfy, including a show about people living through paranormal experiences and another featuring "Da Vinci Code"-type sleuthing, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

"Paranormal Witness" blends first-hand testimony and drama and will debut in September, the article notes. It’s from RawTV and Dimitri Doganis and Bart Layton will serve as executive producers.

"Legend Quest" follows real-life symbologist Ashley Cowie as he tracks hidden artifacts, a la the "Da Vinci Code," the story notes. It’s a co-production of BASE Productions’ John Brenkus and Mickey Stern and Universal Networks International.

"Haunted Collector" is a show about a family of paranormal investigators who look for haunted items. It’s from Gurney Prods.’ Scott Gurney and Deirdre Gurney, and the show will debut in June as a companion to the second season of "Hollywood Treasure," the story notes.

  1. At this rate syfy should give up its name.. the cheap suits at NBC seem to be trying to kill the network by moving away from SciFi. First they kill Caprica, the SGU, there’s not much left to watch. I really hate those reality shows (except for Face Off)

  2. I used to watch The Sci-Fi Channel (I’m sorry, but ‘SyFy’ is just stupid) to escape from reality. So much for that. They have consistently gotten rid of their best programming in favor of cheaper and more insipid crap. That’s why I haven’t watched anything on there for years.

  3. I agree that SyFy has very little Sci-Fi anymore. This year Stargate Universe is gone. Warehouse 13 will be the only reason left I watch SyFy at all and even it is not on right now as it is between seasons, I believe.
Network TV has more Sci-Fi on it than SyFy does with the likes of V, The Event, Fringe, etc. and most of these shows may be cancelled this season as well.
I do not watch these “Unreality Shows” either.
